Monday Movies of the Mind #1

2Pac’s The Phantom of the Hip-Hopera

The Idea: Andrew Lloyd Weber’s The Phantom of the Opera, as told by Tupac Shakur

The Tagline: “Track down my murderer, he must be found…”

The Plot: 2Pac rises from the dead and searches for the man responsible for his murder. Meanwhile, he narrates his journey through rap music.

Last Lines: “California / knows how to seek vengeance…”

    • Good in a stupid way, right? Like I’ve heard Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is fantastic, but looking at the plot (Freddy Krueger comes back from the dead for the umpteenth time to kill the guys who put him on the silver screen), I can’t imagine it being anywhere near good.

    • “Hip-hopera” is actually a genre fusion of rap and opera music. Yeah it IS really stupid, just the idea of it. I keep thinking of Tupac’s Resurrection (which I haven’t seen) meets Joel Schumacher’s production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera (which I have seen and find underrated, as a slight tangent) when I look at this monster I created. Hopefully no one looks at my blog, takes “Monday Movies of the Mind”, and takes it into “Monday Movies of Reality”. Fat chance, but it would suck.
