  1. Very cool! Like the categories a lot; looking forward to the winners.

Even though I would never ever in a million years nominate Don Jon for Best Screenplay, I love all the noms for Before Midnight and I’m glad to see McConaughey for Wolf, Onata Aprile, The Impossible, Gatsby and Margot Robbie.

Also happy to see Jude Law for Side Effects, although I’d consider him the lead.

    • Yay! First comment, and I’m not getting any gawking for giving Anchorman 2 acting nominations!

I’m still in disbelief of how much you hated Don Jon. It just doesn’t seem possible to me, especially since you loved basically every other JGL movie. Glad you enjoyed seeing all those nominations.

I thought Jude Law kind of fell as support for Rooney Mara’s performance. Which, by the way, I would have also nominated, but there were so many contenders for Best Lead Actress! That was the hardest category for nominations. I’ve already chosen the winners, and the Best Director was easily the most difficult (oxymoron?) choice. No spoiling though…that category will be announced February 14th!

Stay tuned for the announcement of Worst Picture, at the end of my Die Another Day review today!

      • Well, I haven’t seen Anchorman 2 so can’t comment on that!

And yeah, I also didn’t expect to hate Don Jon as much as I did, haha! I love him as an actor but not a fan (so far) of him as a writer/director.

I actually thought both Law and Mara were leads in that film. Regardless, they were both stellar. I also liked Zeta Jones and thought she was featured way too little.

Yes, the Best Actress race is packed this year! So is the one for Best Actor. Very hard to pick.

        Looking forward to the winners!
