Best of 2015

I’d just like to say, I can’t believe this is my fifth time doing this. This blog still feels new to me!

I’m going to change things up a little bit this year. Instead of doing a simple cut-and-dry post where I list my top ten, list the next ten, and then the ten worst, I’m going to give a complete list of everything I’ve seen this year.

I’m going from worst to best, because if I do a best to worst list, I lose your excitement; the movies just keep getting worse and worse, and eventually, you get tired of hearing about bad movies. So I’ll start off the year’s worst (#83) and make my way down to the year’s best (#1).  Here we go.

NOTE: This list was initially posted at midnight on January 1, 2016.  More titles have been added in the time since.  Each of these amendments is noted with an asterisk (*).

STILL ON MY WATCHLIST: Films I still need to see include: Black Mass, Bridge of Spies, By the Sea, Chi-Raq, Crimson Peak, Everest, The Green Inferno, He Named Me Malala, Janis: Little Girl Blue, Joy, Legend, The Look of Silence, Love, Macbeth, The Night Before, The Peanuts Movie, Sicario, Sisters, Suffragette, The Stanford Prison Experiment, Tangerine, and Trumbo.

FILMS I AM COUNTING AS 2016 RELEASES: There are a few films that were released at the end of the year that may expand in 2016, as well as those that have a set date to expand in 2016. As more audiences will see those films in 2016, I will consider those films for my Best of 2016 list, rather than include them on this list. Those films are as follows: 45 Years, Anomalisa, The Danish Girl, The Revenant, Son of Saul, and Where to Invade Next.

Just as in previous years, I love hearing everybody’s reactions to my list. In fact, it’s something I look forward to on New Year’s, even more than I look forward to my annual tradition of ringing in the New Year with movies. So have away in the comments section, and let’s make 2016 the best year ever!
